Some Men

Taming doubt and mastering grand

illusions of the impossible,

do these factor in Mr. Keats;

into your theorem of consolation?

“Beauty is truth, truth beauty”!

Some men need to know more.

Exploring an inexhaustible system of caverns

masked with lavish odors of tasty Mint Julip:

streams of relevant hopes cascade along,

emptying waste and spoils into an epicenter

of shipwrecked faith and smashed dreams.

Some men unfortunately drift out to sea.

Chronicles of captain's bliss, read softly aloud

upon vast lands of turmoil and vengeance;

all the while, its impressionable audience being

captured by sidewinder speeches, hissed by

forked tongues wrapped in corrupted silhouette.

Some men find themselves stranded ashore.

In the wake of God's infinite brilliance

it is beckoned to us all that:

“Men shalt not live by bread alone...”

Perhaps because in a muffled den of thieves,

virtuous men would drop like flies!

Signal...Some men pray on their knees.

Endearing temptations to reach something greater:

souls of isolation steer clear into magnanimous wake.

Relentless subordination to fierce elements and tide,

the artist, records his findings with a naive brush;

attained destination is relevant, given with each stroke.

Some men go on, continue bailing out their boats.

Basking in a hypnotic Amber light, graciously cast

by smoldering embers, crackling, becoming internalized:

ashes continue piling into the outstretched urn of time.

Flickering from petrified dreams of youth, mortality gains

acceptance from its morality, with fully glazed eyes;

Some men wade in a pool of eternity.

A Time and Place for Everything; New Modern Times.

I see it turning around for us starving artists, sooner than later; as the great Modernist movement was built in & out of the turmoil throughout the 1st half of the 20th century(particularly WWI and II), it is now our time in the beginning of the 21st century.

There always seems to come a time, throughout all eras of history, when we(as a whole) must finally wake up!   Today it happens to be the hyper reality we've built around us, and it's harmful by-products (ie: Industrial revolution greatly led up to problems in early 20th century).

Art can help reveal to the public, both the good and the bad; allowing its viewers and artists alike to discern between the opposing forces, forged outta the newer, overlooked present & also the past.  Visual art is the simple truth in which I believe must reveal itself evident and pure; it's time for us to take a leap of faith together with our best collective foot forward, as well as keeping our individual cadences..

Art Deco?

Would you classify this artwork of mine as Art Deco, based on the many definitions of Art Deco? 

I'm asking you, the viewer to help me decide this matter...it's an example for when art is at its most subjective, vulnerability - Classification. 

After all, it's just a harmless little word, and no where near as important as the essence of what it truly is (which I personally feel is utterly indescribable beyond any written word-as is human emotion and logic itself).

Joan Miro inspired Ceramic Piece; by C.T. Rasmuss

Like many great artists Miro invented his own language, but individually he created a new species characterized by their many geometric forms, through his style of automatic drawing; My piece: Basic Survival, pays tribute to this by means of automatic sculpting with clay, into similar geometric shapes of my own creative style.

"A Picture Worth a Thousand Calculations."; Fractal 1 by C.T. Rasmuss.

This is a fractal I believe, I created a few years back; which is one of my most significant works, that has helped lead me to where I am today(to date- 2010; as an artist)...biggest influence for this, is my passion received through the works of 20th century Dutch artist, M.C. Escher!

He wasn't a mathematical nor am I, but I can see it though...hence:
